The popularity of super foods continues to grow, as more and more people are looking for ways to combat the effects of our increasingly toxic environment, bad diet habits, unhealthy lifestyle choices and the stress of modern living.
Of course, for us vegans, the first question is whether or not the food is cruelty free, because we know that ingesting products of cruelty is not good for our health, on any level.
A few months ago, we received a very generous donation of phytoplankton from Ocean’s Alive. Since this product is made by a vegan company and its claims were nothing short of amazing, we decided to try it. We’re healthy people to begin with, so I can’t say it cured anything for anyone, but there’s no doubt in the minds of those of us who are experimenting with it that we feel a higher, cleaner energy since taking it, which is especially true for us older folks.
We also like that it’s so easy to take. Just a few drops in a little fruit juice at the start of the day, and we feel the energy boost for hours.
We’re grateful to Ocean’s Alive for affording our volunteers the opportunity to use this fine product and for making it available to the growing number of vegans, further increasing the nutritional value of the already power-packed vegan diet.
