UPDATE: Thanks to the kind efforts of dozens of Gentle World supporters, we were able to move every single case of books out of the warehouse and into the hands of individuals and organizations who will be distributing them at events, bookstores, eateries, and sanctuaries.
We wish to extend our thanks to all who came to our aid during this period, and all who have joined forces with us to help get the book out there to people in need of the information and inspiration it provides.
Thanks to our wonderful readers, many copies of the book have been donated to area school and public libraries, and also to places that have their own lending libraries, like churches and no-kill animal shelters.
The Cookbook for People who Love Animals is a classic of the movement that has been much-loved over the years as one of the very first vegan cookbooks published in the US, back when veganism was in its infancy. Now in its ninth print run, it has sold over 100,000 copies in the nearly 40 years since its publication, and has received a whole host of glowing reviews on Amazon.
During Gentle World’s 40+ years of public service, our purpose as a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization has always been to help build a more peaceful society by providing free education about the reasons for being vegan, and how to go about making the transition.
This is the last time The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals will be available for purchase at the wholesale level. Last time we offered a discounted case price, our readers came up with all sorts of inventive ways to get the book out there! We hope our readers will be able to make use of this opportunity once again to help spread the word of veganism by sharing Gentle World’s iconic cookbook with their vegan-curious friends and family.
